Job Description
The LRS Retirement Solutions group is seeking an Associate IT Systems Analyst to join our Infrastructure and Technical Services (ITS) Team. Retirement Solutions has delivered innovative pension administration software since 1987. Our flagship product, PensionGold, is a web-based application built on a service-oriented architecture using Microsoft .NET and Microsoft SQL Server.
PensionGold runs on Microsoft Windows Server environments and is deployed for customers in both physical and virtual infrastructures. Solutions may be installed on premises or fully hosted. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, technical environment and has hands-on experience supporting Microsoft-based enterprise systems.
Role Overview
The ITS Team supports both customer-facing and internal environments:
- Customer environments (hosted and on premises) running PensionGold, including Production, Test, and Disaster Recovery.
- Internal environments supporting Product Development, Implementations, and Product Support teams.
In this role, you will set up, configure, and support Microsoft server environments—both physical and virtual—and install and maintain PensionGold and related business extensions (e.g., imaging and workflow).
The ITS Team works with a wide range of technologies, including Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, and virtualization platforms from Microsoft and VMware. You will be expected to stay current with existing technologies and quickly learn new tools used by the PensionGold platform.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess 2+ years of professional experience:
- Supporting and maintaining IT systems using Microsoft Server and Workstation operating systems, Microsoft SQL Server, and IIS
- Working with relational and multidimensional database management systems
- Administering and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server or similar RDBMS
- Virtualization technologies (Microsoft or VMware)
- Core Microsoft infrastructure services, including active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and WINS
The following additional skills will make you a stronger candidate:
- Experience administering and troubleshooting complex infrastructure in large server environments
- Working knowledge of scripting tools (e.g., SQL scripts, PowerShell)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Performance Objectives
Success in this role will be measured by meeting the following objectives within the first year of employment:
- Within 1 month:
- Gain a solid understanding of the PensionGold infrastructure landscape.
- Within 3 months:
- Demonstrate proficiency installing and configuring PensionGold environments.
- Show strong understanding of core infrastructure components (Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, Active Directory, and networking).
- Within 6 months:
- Efficiently install and troubleshoot internal software environments used by Retirement Solutions teams.
- Within 1 year:
- Independently install, configure, and troubleshoot customer PensionGold environments with a comprehensive understanding of the software.
Organization & Reporting Structure
LRS Retirement Solutions is one of several divisions within LRS and is led by a Vice President, with Directors and Managers overseeing Implementations, Product Development, and Product Support. This position is part of the Infrastructure and Technical Services (ITS) Team and reports to the ITS Manager, who reports directly to the Vice President.
Location & Compensation
This position is onsite in our headquarters office in Springfield, Illinois with options for a hybrid remote schedule after successful training and onboarding.
The salary range for this entry level position is $50,000 - $60,000 plus eligibility for paid overtime as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
