Job Description
Were seeking interns with a focus in business administration, information systems or related field to join our summer internship program with our Retirement Solutions software teams.
If selected, you will join our Retirement Solutions software group as a Project Manager Intern. LRS Retirement Solutions has been the leading provider of defined benefit pension administration software and services since 1987. The current version of PensionGold is a browser-based, service-oriented solution developed using Microsoft .Net 4.0 and SQL Server.
You will be part of a team that implements customized solutions related to pension administration using our PensionGold software. Project Manager Interns will work on small project teams that configure and customize PensionGold software for our customers. In this position you will be involved in day-to-day project task management, schedule meetings with project teams, assist in documentation, and participate in other project management activities. Project Managers utilize various project tools to move tasks to completion such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Azure DevOps. You will participate in various workstreams across multiple implementation projects to gain knowledge of different approaches.
We are seeking candidates for our Project Manager Intern positions in Springfield, IL. Applicants must be willing and able to start temporary, full-time work in mid-May 2024 and will work until mid- August 2024.
You will work side-by-side on actual projects with our talented project manager mentors. You will enjoy our casual work environment where we encourage creative collaboration with an emphasis on a healthy work/life balance.
Applicant Requirements:
We are looking for candidates pursuing Business Administration, Information Systems, or similar related degree or with equivalent on the job experience. You must have completed at least three years of undergraduate classes, including at least six courses related to business administration. Or you must have at least 2 years experience working in a Project Management related position. You must have permanent authorization to work in the USA, no sponsorship is available.
We are seeking interns who are pursuing careers that require problem solving skills, demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills and a desire to lead teams. Applicants must have some knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft office applications or other IT related skills. Effective public speaking and interpersonal communications skills will make you a stronger candidate. We need interns who are self-motivated and can work independently yet can also work collaboratively as part of a team.
Success Keys:
The key to your success in this position will be your ability to quickly transfer your textbook knowledge into performing hands-on work with real world applications. Self-motivation, persistence, effective communication skills, and attention to detail are also critical to success in this position.
