The LRS® Retirement Solutions Group (LRS) needs a Quality Assurance Analyst to join its Implementations team. LRS Retirement Solutions has been a leading provider of pension administration software since 1987. Our vision is to “Create efficiencies and cost savings in the administration and management of defined benefit plans for public sector retirement systems which leads to improved member services by delivering innovative software for pension administration.” We achieve this vision through our PensionGold® software, which is used by many defined benefit pension plans throughout the U.S. You will be part of the Implementations team that is responsible for the design and development of customized functionality within our PensionGold software. The current version is a browser-based, service-oriented, and fully integrated solution developed using Microsoft.NET, SQL Server and other web-based technologies. As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you receive an hourly rate, and you are eligible for overtime pay. Core Responsibilities: As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you will be expected to: Have a thorough understanding of the customers’ defined benefit plans rules, practices and processes and be able to explain how these align with our software functionality Have an in-depth understanding of the functionality and processes of any currently marketed PensionGold software products, including the underlying data structure. Develop comprehensive training materials and prepare for training sessions. Develop comprehensive test scenarios and test plans to facilitate system testing as well as customer user acceptance testing. Perform detailed system, integration, and regression testing and succinctly document software defects or missing functionality through action items. Applicant Requirements: Previous experience working directly for a retirement Fund that has actively implemented PensionGold Version 3. You must have two years of experience using or implementing the PensionGold software products. You must have at least five years of experience performing analysis, testing and documenting business procedures for the implementation of a new software product or application. You must have at least five years of experience analyzing changes and documenting how those changes impact the current business operations. You must have at least three years of experience conducting training on application software. You must have at least three years of experience supporting a customer in their efforts of testing and use of application software. You must have extensive experience using Microsoft’s standard office tools. Your ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in written form) to people ranging from executive directors to technical developers will be instrumental in your success. To demonstrate these skills, you must have experience understanding complex business functionality in software products and explaining them using simple terminology. You must have experience making formal presentations to a live audience. This experience should be with business presentations or conducting training sessions. Although not required, a candidate with a background in defined benefits and/or experience writing T-SQL queries to identify business data for test cases will be more favorably considered. You must have permanent authorization to work in the USA. No visa sponsorships are available. Success Keys: You need to be a business professional who is comfortable and competent when interacting with customers, internal and external technical teams, and other business professionals. The key to your success is your ability to gain detailed business knowledge of the customers’ business processes to become the implementation project team’s business expert. You must quickly develop a basic understanding of the PensionGold software products and how the customers’ business requirements can be met using those products. While internal training will be provided, you must be able to independently acquire additional industry and product knowledge on your own. Your aptitude or experience developing an understanding of customers’ business processes and how those processes are accomplished in our software products will be vital to your success. The Quality Assurance Analyst is required to interact with customers across the executive, business, and technical areas, as well as LRS technical and business teams. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to meet expectations in several performance factors including verbal and written communications, interpersonal relations, and teamwork. Organization Structure and Interfaces: The LRS Retirement Solutions group has approximately 80 employees. It is managed by the Director. Managers over Implementations, Product Support and Product Development along with Sales report to the Director, and there are Team Leads that report to the Director or to their manager. You will be a member of the Implementations team and report directly to the Director of Implementations. You will interact with members of your team, other LRS employees along with LRS customers. The LRS® Retirement Solutions Group is seeking a Software Developer in Springfield, Illinois for our Implementations Team. LRS Retirement Solutions is a group within Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc. (LRS), a global information technology company. LRS Retirement Solutions has been the leading provider of defined benefit pension administration software and services since 1987. The current version of PensionGold is a browser-based, service-oriented solution developed using Microsoft .Net 4.0 and SQL Server. You will be part of an implementation team that implements customized solutions related to pension administration using our PensionGold software. Software Developers in this position work on small project teams to implement PensionGold software for our customers. In this position you will be involved in analysis, design, development, testing and troubleshooting. You will develop solutions using our proprietary visual development tools, Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, and other web development technologies. You will also work with other people in technical, business and management areas, including new and existing customers, to fulfill business requirements and successfully implement our software. You may be based at our corporate headquarters in Springfield, Illinois, in most of our regional offices, or home-based for the right candidate. At each of our LRS offices, we have a casual dress environment that our employees enjoy, and we offer a hybrid, two days a week work from home option as well! You can expect at times during an implementation project to travel during the work week up to 20 percent, all within the United States. Core Responsibilities: Design: Create detailed design documentation that implements complex business and technical requirements. Application Development: Develop and implement quality and error-free solutions that meet specifications – user interfaces, validations, business processes, jobs, reports, etc. SQL Development: Create and maintain complex queries and stored procedures required for application development and data processing. Database Development: Design and develop efficient database objects within our application for data storage and access. Performance Objectives: Within the first 30 days you will learn the PensionGold system functionality. You will verbally demonstrate this understanding to your manager and other LRS Retirement Solutions employees. Within the first 30 days you will be able to read and utilize change request documents, problem incident reports and action items. Within the first 60 days you will have developed a detailed understanding of the existing business process modeler tools and the associated parameters and properties used within them. Within the first 90 days you will be able to create and modify business application processes using the business process modeler tools. Within your first 90 days you will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of our product’s technical architecture, development tools and methodologies. Within your first 6 months you will demonstrate value by effectively participating in application development efforts on implementation projects. Applicant Requirements: We need someone with at least three years of object-oriented programming experience, including two years of experience developing web applications using ASP.NET and SQL Server. The majority of our software development is performed using Microsoft.NET, but we will consider individuals with comparable experience. A good understanding of various web technologies and how they can be used to meet business needs is essential. Specific experience with Visual Studio, C#, MVC, HTML, JavaScript and XML will make you a stronger candidate. Proven knowledge of SQL Server and relational database concepts is required, including database analysis, design, and T-SQL script and stored procedure development. Our Technical Business Systems Analysts have a vital role in understanding each customer’s unique business processes and how they drive the configuration and customization of our PensionGold software.?The Technical Business Systems Analysts are a key resource for our implementations team and act as subject matter experts on multiple platforms the group uses. This position allows for the flexibility to work remotely as a home-based employee or a hybrid in-office/work-from-home schedule from any of our LRS North American locations.? Develop, modify, and test complex business processes using our business process modeler tools. Create and document test plans/cases and execute scenarios using written and implied requirements. Perform debugging and unit testing of business processes in our software and continuously maintain and update plans during all implementation phases. Collaborate with project team members to ensure the solution addresses business requirements within the capabilities of the PensionGold software. Resolve problem incident reports during testing by analyzing the reported problem, determining the appropriate corrective action, and making the necessary changes to the design documents. Applicant Requirements: You must have at least five years of Business Analyst experience performing analysis and design as part of an application development project or software implementation team. You must have at least four years of experience creating or modifying SQL Server scripts. You must be able to write database queries and have a solid understanding of database structures. You must have at least four years of experience in software development. You must effectively communicate in English (written and verbal). You must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with our business owners, customers, and team members. Familiarity with implementing a COTS solution to meet specific customer requirements is a plus. Previous experience working with retirement system software or custom software development is a plus.?
